A computer Science professional, Kimbowa Syrage is Founder of Vulnerable Basket. since 2015 Syrage has been engaged in social work, using technology to contribute to social and economic wellbeing of disadvantaged communities in Uganda. He introduced transfer and exchange of information (production, agriculture best practices, modern farm management, joint household planning) among rural farming communities using technologies. Use of Technologies led to increased productivity, reduced waste, and overall economic efficiency, contributing to household sustainable growth. In 2018 he established Vulnerable Basket with a simple yet powerful idea of creating a positive impact in the lives of vulnerable people. The organization has since then broadened its goal to improving the quality-of-life vulnerable people and their families. To date the organization has reached out to 2,000 most vulnerable people. Kimbowa Syrage is also credited for contributing to the establishment of Petinar Kindergarten School’s Early childhood programme which provides pre-school Education and safe place for Children with learning disabilities and children of teenage mothers who are going back to school after birth.
