Vulnerable Basket promotes a gender-sensitive and inclusive environment targeted communities. Using couple seminar methodology”, organization promote gender relations in vulnerable households, ensuring that workloads are shared more equally with a common vision for the house. Married and non-married members of the Vulnerable Groups including the Youth participate in couple seminars that apply participatory gender analysis tools, such as activity profiles and access and control matrices, to unveil existing gender inequalities. This approach allows participants to discover and define the inequalities for themselves and decide together on means of action. During all seminars, the importance of women and men working and planning together for the benefit of the entire household is specifically highlighted. At the end of the seminars, couples may decide to register as Change Agents.

Change Agents are responsible to adhere to the principles of gender equality in their own households, and to promote gender equality in the wider community. They will receive training and coaching by Hired Gender consultant/ Gender Expert. The Change Agents will take up strong roles in sensitizing communities and encouraging their fellow community members to address gender inequalities that may exist in their homes by sharing their own experiences. In addition, the organization facilitates Vulnerable groups to sensitize communities through drama shows. These contain aspects of gender inequality and Gender Based Violence, environmental protection, conservation agriculture and HIV/AIDS. Awareness raising activities will target parents, local leaders, service providers as key drivers and celebrations take place on International Women’s Day to raise awareness of the importance of women’s and girls’ socio-economic empowerment.
