Farouk Semwanga is a professional social worker with knowledge and skills in project planning and management. Farouk has successfully coordinated the implementation of humanitarian operations and Community development programmes targeting disadvantaged communities including internally displaced, refugees, children with disabilities and vulnerable communities. Farouk started his career in 2003 with Save the Children (USA), coordinating the implementation of Non formal community-based Education programmes (Adult literacy project, Child Centred Alternative nonformal community Based Education (CHANCE), Alternative Basic Education for Karamoja-ABEK and Early Child hood Development) in post war areas, Refugee settlements and Pastoral communities. Coordinated and managed Education in Emergencies, Child protection and Livelihood development programmes implemented and funded by international agencies like Save the children, USAID, German Technical Development Agency, United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF), Untied Nation High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Norwegian International Development Agency, Swedish International Development Agency. Farouk is credited to have led social workers to establish Petinar Kindergarten School’s Early childhood programme which provides Pre-school Education and Safe place for Children with learning disabilities and children of teenage mothers who are going back to school after birth. He has vast experience in Development, coordination and management of (Youth and Child livelihood development, Environment, Agribusiness, Gender, Education in Emergency, Formal and Non formal Education programmes, Child protection). Vast experience in conducting participatory trainings, partnership coordination, Community mobilization, coaching, mentorship, team building, Most Significant study and Human Resource management. A member of Council for Exceptional Children (https://exceptionalchildren.orgin) a USA based organization supporting improvement of the quality of special and general education for Children and a member of community Link Foundation Uganda (www.clfu.org).
